The idea
Why Murmure exists.
We don't need a guide to cross a street. But sometimes we'd like to know what played out there, right beneath our feet. Murmure fills that silence.
A voice, a fact, a window onto history — when you walk past, and only when you walk past.
The method
How it works.
You activate Walk Mode. The app detects the heritage places you cross (on foot, by bike). When you approach one with something to say, a quiet notification drops.
You choose: listen, or keep walking. Thirty seconds to a minute thirty. Calm voice. Precise facts. No ads, no trackers, no storage of your position.
The sources
Where the stories come from.
Every story draws on public sources: the POP-Mérimée database of the French Ministry of Culture (47,000 listed monuments), OpenStreetMap (230,000 points of interest mapped by volunteers), Wikipedia, Wikidata.
User contributions — residents, historians, tourist offices — keep enriching the corpus, like on Wikipedia.
